Page illustrations, spreads, comics, fanfiction (2500 words max) and merch. We’d like to focus on the Joestar family but other characters may be featured!Is there a particular art style you are looking for?

The zine will be physical: 6 x 9 inches, portrait.

Yes, so far we're looking at buttons, prints, charms and stickers. We envision this project to be a small and niche one, so we feel it's best to keep things simple and cheap.Who can apply to the zine?
Contributors must be 18 years of age by the time of production period, post-preorders. For now, we estimate this to begin on February 10, 2026. If you are turning 18 by then, we will accept your application. Please make sure you have a working PayPal account if you wish to receive payment.

Yes. You may make applications for both roles. Depending on how apps go, successful applicants may double up as both Page Artist and Merch Artist. Artists may also apply to collaborate with a Writer and produce spot/half-page illustrations. Please be aware of the increased workload that comes with having both roles and make sure you are confident in meeting the deadlines when making your application.Will you be accepting pinch hitters?
Yes. If you are a pinch hitter, you will be notified ASAP to fill in if a contributor drops out. Please note that, as a pinch hitter, you may have a shorter timeframe to complete your piece, though we will try to accommodate you to the best of our abilities.How many contributors will be accepted?
We are looking for 15-20 Page Artists, 3-5 Writers, and 3-5 Merch Artists. Artists may double up as Merch Artists. These numbers may change depending on the number of apps we get.How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to give contributors a free PDF copy of the zine. Any leftover profits after production and shipping will be split—a portion will go to charity, and the rest will be distributed among contributors. Further details will be given later in the project to those concerned.How can I get in touch?

Q: With the theme "legacy" how are the Joestar's expected to be portrayed? Will this take place after their stories where characters like Johnny and Jonathan have passed? If so, will they not appear in work alive unless it's in the form of something like a photograph? And based on the theme it seems pretty obvious but just to be safe, will there be rules regarding depicting spoilers?A: We leave it open to interpretation for how you wish to treat the theme of legacy. You can set your idea in a particular part where either Jonathan or Johnny is alive, or have it be an abstract piece where they both meet and interact.The theme of legacy can either be taken canonically, or as a canon compliant AU - perhaps where everyone is alive - or applying your own canon-compliant headcanons. As long as your ideas tie in with the theme of the zine and portray the characters as close to canon as possible.Regarding spoilers, since we want to showcase works from all the parts 1-9, we will allow spoilers for parts 7-9 to be included if they tie in with the theme of the zine.———Q: What types of art/writing would you be looking for? I'm intrigued by the concept and am curious on what types of fanworks would tie into the theme?A: We intend to showcase a variety of different pieces featuring the theme of legacy depending on what that means to the individual creator. It can be a canon compliant AU where all the Joestars are together, something being passed down from one generation to another, or concepts around a character leaving their own legacy in good deeds and acts of kindness.Art Pitch Examples:• A spread where the Joestars are holding hands, reaching through time periods and across their own timelines.
• A comic page of various scenes, showcasing the Crusaders helping people on their journey.
• Joseph adopting and caring for Shizuka.
• Jotaro teaching young Jolyne about caring for the environment during a beach day.Writing Pitch Examples:• Giorno is helping kids on the street like Bucciarati (and his father's friend Speedwagon) did, showing them how to carry on his work.
• A dream sequence where Jonathan meets Johnny and passes on the torch, giving his blessing to the next JoJo.
• Johnny starting a charity for injured and handicap jockeys.———Q: Would the creation period be in the summer or the fall, or throughout both? (Asking as a student)A: Creation period has been tentatively scheduled for August 10 - November 10. Please note that these dates may change in the near future and we suggest following our socials for updates.———Q: Would ship art (or art with ships in the background but not the main focus) be allowed? If not I totally understand!A: We aim for this zine to be rated General and SFW.
Therefore shipping is not the focus but canon ships may be considered if they tie into the theme of the zine.———Q: If I were to apply as a page artist and a merch artist, would I be considered/chosen for one or both positions?A: Dependent on the number of contributor apps that we receive. If we receive a lot then we will only assign one role per person to ensure as many people get to participate in the zine. If we receive less than anticipated, page artists may double up as merch artists. Though we advise that if applying for both roles, you must be confident in taking on double the workload within the creation period.———Q: If the zine was (or was partially) for-profit, would money go to contributors and/or mods?A: For a for-profit zine, we would aim to split the profits between contributors and mods.———Q: If this wasn't the plan already, could you please prohibit ai "art"/"writing" from contributors?A: We will include in the contributor app guidelines that Al works and NFT works will be prohibited from the zine, both when submitting their portfolio pieces for the apps and in their final zine piece(s).———Q: What's the theme, exactly?A: This zine will be about the legacy the Joestars left in their own world. How they shaped the lives of many others through their actions. (The mod team also hopes that it will inspire contributors and readers think about their own legacy).———Q: I like to contribute, this seems so cool ^^ i wanted to ask what kinds of artwork would it have (illustrations, comics, etc, im curious ><)A: For our zine, we expect to have illustrations and comics done in digital format. We also welcome artworks done in traditional format if they can be scanned in at high resolution (at least 300dpi). Finally, we are also open to other suggestions - if applicants would like to work in a different medium, they are most welcome to submit a portfolio of images———**Q: In answer to your votes on our recent poll, we have decided that we will be adding a darker twist to our zine! What does this mean? **A: Part of our zine will now be dedicated to showcasing the darker side of Legacy - what legacies did villains like Dio and the Pillar Men leave in the world of JoJo? What was their impact on the Joestars and the world at large?We will be extending applications for 1 EXTRA WEEK so that people who are specifically interested in creating dark Legacy content will have a little extra time to apply. For those of you who have already applied, you will have the option to edit your application form and add pitches specifically for dark side content.(Please note that while this content will be considered “dark” the main rules for the zine still apply: canon typical violence is allowed, but we will still not be allowing nsfw content).We hope you will embrace the darkness with us—without darkness, there cannot be light!
